Another OB visit

So it's super late and I unfortunately have been fighting a major head cold for the last 3 days. Anything that might make me feel better...I can't take! Anyways I had an OB appointment today that lasted all of 5 minutes. I'm 34 weeks and she says everything is good. His heart rate was 155 bpm. I go back in 2 weeks and she said she will start "checking" me, then weekly appointments after that.
One big piece of news is that I chopped off my hair. It's cut to above my shoulders. For some reason I was feeling impulsive that day, and if I had it to do all over again, I probably would not have done it. I guess that's why they say not to cut your hair when you're pregnant. Oh well... it's a change anyway. It also doesn't help when your husband hates it! So I'm fat and I have short hair...that's 2 strikes in his book. Most people have said they like it, but would they really say any different even if they hated it? The nurse at the doctor's office today said "Oh look...you got your mommy haircut." I am officially uncool! I'll try to send a picture if I get the chance.
I am so looking forward to my baby shower this weekend! I have even received some awesome gifts already from people who can't come to the shower. Chris and I are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family!

Happy 1st Birthday Emma!

Today we went to a birthday party for my cousin Emma who turned 1. The theme for the party was "Chicks Rule" and there were little baby chicks everywhere...it was really cute. She did awesome opening her presents and had lots of them too. She had a ice cream cake that was really yummy. My mom made her a tutu that was absolutely adorable as you can see!

Camping Trip

As promised here are a few pics from our one-night camping trip this past weekend. Chris really wanted to take Robby and Kasie camping and go fishing too, so we did. We really wanted to go to Tyler State Park, but they were full. So we stayed at the Lake Bob Sandlin State Park. It was a nice campsite with lots of trees. It was fun watching Chris and Robby put up the tents. I for some stupid reason did not get a picture of the very HUGE tent Chris bought, but let's just say you can easily stand inside of it. Saturday we fished some and then came back and roasted hot dogs and made smores. Yum! Sunday we fished too! Everyone caught a fish at some point during the weekend so that was good. The weather was wonderful and we were even HOT at some points on Sunday in the boat. Probably won't do any more camping or fishing before the baby comes, but I'm sure Chris will. Overall we had a good time, but it was a lot of work for only one night!

My little Mason

On Friday, we went for a 3D/4D sonogram to try to see baby Mason. It was really neat and kinda weird all at the same time. He was actually turned in such a way that the pictures weren't great. He also had tons of umbilical cord near his face that also made it difficult to see his CUTE face. He yawned a lot and he's definitely a BOY... he didn't mind showing us that part of his body. He also appears to have my nose! Chris, my mom, my dad, Robby and Kasie were all there for the show. The lady who did it was very nice and tried for a long time to get better pictures. She actually scheduled me for another one in 2 weeks for free in order to try to get some better ones. So I'm glad I'll get to see HIM again really soon!

We also went camping with Robby and Kasie this weekend. I'll post about that later this week. Until then enjoy this adorable picture of Mason!

Doctor's Appointment

Well I had my 32 week check-up today and everything is progressing nicely. I measured right at 32 weeks and the baby's heart rate was 155. She said to come back at 34 weeks and then at 36 weeks she would start "checking me" and then I would have weekly appointments after that. This is all starting to sound very scary and very soon! I know it will be fine and I feel very blessed that things have gone so well so far. I go back April 30th.

Getting Ready for Baby

So here is a sneak preview of the baby's CRIB as we were putting it together. The final product is not quite complete...my mom is still working on the bumper. I promise another pic when it's done. You can also see the paint color we picked in the background. It's a slate BLUE color called Scarborough. I love it.

We've spent most of our time recently trying to get settled in the new house and we're getting there slowly but surely.

The BABY is getting bigger by the minute and everyone the last 2 days has been saying how I'm really starting to show. Not bad to "really show" at 32 weeks...I'll take it! I also had a co-worker tell me how great I've done with the pregnancy and working long days on my feet, and how she's never once heard me complain. It was really nice to hear. He's been poking body parts out at me all day today and it's really FUN to try and guess what it is. Even more fun to put someone else's hand there, let them feel it and say "Ewww... what is that?" Absolutely hilarious!

I have a check-up tomorrow with by OB. I'll let you know how it goes.

Home Sweet Home

Well it has been a week since my last post and so much has happened. Last Friday, we closed on our new HOUSE and started moving stuff that night. We moved the rest on Saturday. Mimi (my mom) spent all weekend PAINTING the baby room, but it still needs another coat of paint. The new house is fantastic and we are so happy to be in it. We owe a great deal of thanks to all the family members who helped us MOVE. Today we got our internet service hooked up, so more postings and pictures to come.

A little Robby

"What are your plans for Thanksgiving?" Huh?! That's what Robby asked us tonight at dinner. I was so confused and wondering why is he asking us this. "Well looks like we have plans already....we are going to have a baby!" Yep they told us tonight they are expecting a baby due 11-25-08. Looks like Mason will have a cousin and a playmate only 6 months younger than him.
